Piaffe Performance Farms is proud to be a sponsor of the 2016 Global Dressage Festival CDI series. They will be awarding the Piaffe Performance Adult Amateur Achievement Award throughout the years series of competitions.

Dr. Cesar Parra, owner of Piaffe Performance, is excited to support the dressage community and especially the adult amateurs. When sharing his feelings, he stated, “The heart of our sport is with our adult amateur riders. Every day I learn something from my students that makes me a better rider.”

The Piaffe Performance Adult Amateur Achievement Award’s will recognize high performing adult amateurs for their skills in the arena as well as their sportsmanship and horsemanship. Each award-winning rider will receive a Piaffe Performance rosette and an engraved silver picture frame for them to commemorate their ride and horse.

In addition to presenting the Adult Amateur Achievement Award’s, Piaffe Performance will also be sponsoring the International Arena Rider Lounges and the Hospitality Tents by the National Arenas. Rider’s Lounges  provide drinks and snacks for riders to enjoy before or after their tests and are meant to help provide a relaxing environment for all competitors, so they can compete at their best. Kelby Barranco, para-dressage rider and 2013 United States Dressage Federation Youth Volunteer or the Year, will assist in the lounges.

As Dr. Cesar Parra continued, “I have learned so much from my adult amateur riders about perseverance and commitment. Through this award, I hope Piaffe Performance can play a role in encouraging AA riders. They are the backbone of our sport.”

During last year’s 2015 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, adult amateur dressage rider Ellen Lazarus was named the final winner of the Piaffe Performance Adult Amateur Achievement Award riding her 16.2-hand chestnut gelding, Rhett, in Fourth Level. Lazarus has known Dr. Cesar Parra through the dressage world for more than 20 years.

She expressed her gratitude towards Cesar Parra and Piaffe Performance for their contributions as such, “It’s so nice for the amateurs to get awards like this. And to finally have the CDI adult amateur Prix St. George, which is my next goal.” It was only last year that the Global Dressage Festival changed it’s rules to allow adult amateur riders over the age of 25 to compete at the Small or Medium Tour level by creating a new CDI Amateur International division during every CDI week of the past and upcoming twelve weeks of the 2016 Global Dressage Festival.
