Dr. Cesar Parra has been the owner and operator of Piaffe Performance since 1999. Dr. Cesar Parra and his team of expert equestrian professionals boast the necessary skills and expertise to foster symbiotic development and a relationship between both rider and horse.

Born and raised in the central Colombian city of Ibagué, Dr. Cesar Parra first learned to ride in the steeps of the nearby Andes Mountains at his grandparents’ farm. Excelling as both a student and a rider, he chose study dentistry at university in Bogotá. Earning his degree in 1982, he was granted admission to Boston University from which he graduated with a Pediatric Specialty and a Master’s of Science, Dentistry. He returned to his native nation where he thrived as a dental practitioner. 

It was during this time that he began to focus more on the sport of Dressage. Parra’s intense dedication to his craft paid off as he was heralded as one of Colombia’s best international riders. Dr. Parra earned an array of awards riding in and on behalf of Colombia including, but not limited to, the 1996 Colombian National Championship, the 1997 Sportsman of the year for Equestrian Sports in Colombia. Dr. Parra also competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. 

Dr. Cesar Parra and his family relocated to the United States in 1999, and he promptly founded Piaffe Performance, which he operates in both Whitehouse Station, New Jersey and Jupiter, Florida. He decided to focus professionally on Dressage as he would have to complete three additional years of schooling before being eligible to practice dentistry in the US.  

Cesar Parra became a United States citizen in 2008. Just three year later, Dr. Parra’s realized his dream as he was fortunate enough to compete and win Gold in the Pan American Games on behalf of the USA.  In addition to his storied riding career, he has served extensively served as judge and trainer for the sport of Dressage. 

Parra has studied under such legends as Hans Rueben, Hubertus Schmidt, Herbert Kuckluck. He is a member of the USA High Performance List for Dressage and the Equestrian Federation’s International Dressage Riders Club. Outside of Piaffe Performance, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful family and giving back to those less fortunate than he. Dr Cesar Parra has been involved in a number of philanthropic initiatives in his native Colombia, and often returns to help operate a handful of clinics during the fall and summer months.
